FAQs

Where are you located and where do you travel?

I am based in Dubai, but love to travel to other Emirates (although there will be a small additional cost to cover transport and travel time).

What type of shoots do you do?

I am a family lifestyle photographer, which means I capture the spirit and personality of your family and your life. I love the images that are often captured before or after ‘the shot’. These are more raw and free, and give even more of a special glimpse into your unique family dynamic.

Aside from doing family shoots I also do maternity, newborn, and celebrations – which includes children’s parties, Eid celebrations, cakesmashes … whatever you want to celebrate I can be there to capture those special moments forever. More information and prices for different packages can be found HERE.

When is the best time to book a shoot?

It really depends on what type of shoot you are doing. If you are doing an outdoor shoot then I always suggest early morning or late afternoon to really capture the beautiful light. Indoor shoots are more flexible, and newborn shoots are best led by the mother and baby’s routine.

What should I wear for a shoot?

Again, it depends on the type of shoot: will you be at the beach or in your home? The main thing is that you should feel comfortable and at ease, so you will appear relaxed and happy in your photos. I always think you shouldn’t deviate too much from what you usually wear as a family (albeit a little more coordinated and without the ice-cream stains!) I think you will want to look back in a few years and recognise yourselves – and not be staring at some awkward, strangely-dressed strangers!

Generally, I think some coordination looks good. For example, maybe stick to one colour that is worn throughout, but in different ways and styles. Nothing too ‘matchy-matchy’. Think about the location background – and whether you want to enhance that or stand out. Whites and blues look lovely on beach shoots and compliment the landscape, but then again a dash of fushia or scarlet really stands out and adds a bit of drama. If you are in a park with lots of greens and earthy colours, beiges and blues fit very well. If you are all in green you could get lost in the scenery a little!

Some of my clients love bold patterns or stripes and checks. Again, if this is your normal style then this is what you should wear. The only thing I suggest is to not wear anything with big cartoons or letters.

How do I book a shoot?

You can call me or contact me though text, Whatsapp or email, and we can discuss what you would like to do and dates. I do get booked up, especially at weekends from September to June, so please get in touch as soon as you can to secure a date. My contact details can be found HERE.

How much do you charge for a shoot?

It depends on what package you require. I have different fee structures which cover family, maternity, newborn, cakesmashes, and other celebrations. You can find out more HERE.

What happens next?

Once we have confirmed a date and time we can discuss in more detail what you would like to do in your shoot, and where you would like to do it. I have a couple of questions that help me maximise the shoot for you, and depending on the type of shoot, I may do a moodboard to give us some ideas.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No; there’s no need for a deposit. I just ask that if you need to move the shoot date or cancel you let me know as soon as possible so as I can offer your date to someone else.

How do I pay?

Payment is made on the day of the shoot. Cash or cheque is how most people pay. Sorry, but I don’t have the facilities for credit cards.

What happens after the shoot?

I will go through your images and then send you a selection in low resolution. This usually happens the same day, depending on what time the shoot is. Very occasionally it will be the following day. You can then go through all the shots and pick your favourite images for me to edit (I can make the selection for you if you would prefer, but find most clients like to choose their own). Once I have your selection I will then start editing them with the aim of getting the final images back to you within 2 – 7 days - although at peak times this can be pushed to within 14 working days. I know you want to get your photos as soon as possible so I make every endeavour to get them to you as soon as I can. However, as all my images are hand-edited, I would prefer not to rush that process in order to present you with the very best quality of photos that you deserve.

How do I get my images?

You will receive your images through a file transfer site (like Dropbox). The images will be left for 1 week for you to download – but if you need longer it’s not a problem, just let me know. You will receive your images in high resolution (ideal for printing) and low resolution (ideal for emails and social media). Additionally, you will get a montage of the ‘best moments’, which is a lovely way of keeping the memories together and something that all my clients love.

Can I get prints and photobooks through you?

Yes. I always recommend printing your photos – in whatever format makes sense to you. Whether that’s a photobook, a canvas for the wall, calendars for the family or just as prints – after all, these beautiful memories are meant to be enjoyed, and not hidden away on a hard drive. Feel free to contact me to discuss what you want.

Will you use my images on your website or social media?

That is entirely up to you. I love it when clients give me permission (I have a form to sign when we meet for the shoot) as it is a great tool to help promote my business and show prospective clients what they can expect from me. As a thank you, I always include a few more images for those clients who are happy for me to use their images. Having said that, I also completely understand that some people prefer to keep their photos private, or for friends and family only.

Will my images be watermarked?

No. Your images are watermark free. I only use a watermark for the images I post on social media.

I hope this has answered some of your questions. If I have missed anything or you would like to discuss something in more detail, please feel free to call me on + 971 (0) 56 954 0173 or EMAIL me.
