I am very easy-going and informal, and I want my sessions to be as relaxed and as fun for you as they can be. Well, okay; as relaxed as they can be with a stranger following you around with a massive lens! I always say, especially to the dads who usually dread a photoshoot; “Don’t worry! I’m more fun than going to the dentist.” Of course, one day I will have a dentist for a client and then I’ll be in trouble!
As a family lifestyle photographer, I want to capture the spirit and personality of your family and your life. I love capturing the spontaneous moments that usually come before or after ‘the main shot’. They are more raw and free and often tell the ‘real’ story of your family; the emotions, the fun, the connections, and what is important to you. I want to capture all that and more, and preserve it for you to cherish for many years to come. The images captured in a family photo shoot are not only for you to look back on in a few years, but also something your children and their children will treasure forever.
I know that for a lot of people, a photoshoot can be daunting, and it’s for this reason that I don’t rush my sessions – we’ll take our time and figure out what pace suits your family. I want you to be relaxed and just to be yourselves; doing the things you usually do.
Before the session, I will be in touch with you to find out more about your family and what you want to get out of the shoot. I will then prepare a moodboard to give us a few ideas to try on the day. As well as getting my creative juices flowing, I think it also helps a lot of people think about what is important for me to capture during our time together.
As an location photographer, I come to you, whether that’s at your home, or one of your favourite places to hang out as a family. In the UAE we are spoiled for choice; from deserts and beaches, to parks and cityscapes - I’m up for it all! Home sessions are more flexible in timings, but outdoor sessions are best done early morning or later afternoon when the light is gentle and the colours sing.
After our session you will have a selection of images that encompass candid and lifestyle shots, dynamic family poses, spontaneous moments, and, all in all, a beautiful visual summary of a moment in time with your family.
